GCW's aim is to provide each and every member with the opportunity to play hockey at the level at which they wish to play.

As you will see from surfing this site, we are proud to play at the top of the game in Scotland with our women competing in the Scottish National League 2 and men in National League 3, however we are also proud of our efforts to encourage players of all abilities and ages within the Aberdeen area to take up the game of hockey.

We boast 5 men's outdoor teams and 4 women's teams.  Each player is given the opportunity to find their own level as coaching is provided at a variety of weekly sessions.  In addition to our outdoor teams we field 3 men's and 3 women's Indoor sides during the colder months.  The 1st teams each compete in the National Indoor Leagues and the other teams compete within the Aberdeen District Leagues.

Youth is an ever developing part of our club and we welcome young players of all ages and field teams from U-13 to U-18 levels. 

We train on Tuesday evenings (performance session) at the Aberdeen Sports Village (formerly Chris Anderson Stadium), and on Thursday evenings (club night - all teams) at Rubislaw Astro on the corner of Anderson Drive and Queens Road.  All training sessions are supervised by SHU accredited coaches.

To compliment the hockey, Granite City Wanderers has a very strong social side in which we encourage all members to get involved.  We are a prime example of a club that enjoys its sport but never forgets that we wish to play our sport in the company of friends. We organise many social events throughout the year all of which make for a great night out.
