The Women's First team play in Scottish National League 2. The team is seen as an improving force in Scottish hockey, having made fairly swift progress from North District level through to National League 2. The team has the ultimate aim of making it into National League 1 and were the benefactors of a full time coach to achieve their aim thanks to a sponsorship deal through Aberdeen Asset Management and Scottish Hockey up until the of last season.
Season 2015-16 presents an opportunity for the Ladies Firsts to get into the top group in the Division.
The team has recently undergone some changes with several younger players stepping up reflecting well on the coaching process and the strong youth programme within the club.
We train at least twice a week on the pitch in order that players can focus on playing the highest standards of hockey. There is an excellent team spirit, and we enjoy each other’s company both on and off the pitch.
The captain for this season is Jane Cargill who returns to the role after a year as one of the soldiers when she completed her post-graduate studies.
