Girls District Squad Training Announced

The training period for the North District U16 & U18 Girls squads has just been announced. Training for these squads will commence on Monday 2nd June at Aberdeen Sports Village. Players who are fortunate enough to be selected for the squads will receive an automatic invite into the North District Performance squad for season 2014/15 as well as playing in the Inter District Tournament at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre on the 3rd-5th October.

U16 & U18 District Girls Training Period Announced

North District have just announced the training period for the North District U16 & U18 girls squads. Once selected the lucky players selected play in the Inter District Tournament at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre on the weekend of 3-5th October Girls selected into District squads also receive an automatic invite into teh North Performance squad for 2014/2015.

All girls not 16 at the 1st January 2015 are entitled to attend, even those who have already trialled for the U14s. All girls over 16 and under 18 at 1st January 2015 can trial for the U18 squad.Sessions will be on Monday evenings.

Reasons To Be Cheerful

Granite City Wanderers are pleased to announce that 12 girls have been selected to represent North at U15 level in the Inter District tournament at Peffermill on 2 June. The 18 player squad also includes 2 players from Bon Accord, 2 from Merlins, 1 from Quasar and 1 from Grammar.

The number selected is in addition to the 11 youngsters who recently played for the North U14s in Edinburgh. The squad is a fairly young group with District debuts for no fewer than ten of the twelve with only Alix Mowatt and Milly Merry making a second appearance at this age group.

The girls selected by coach Roddy MacFarlane are :

Kirsten Athawes, Sarah Black, Emma Cornwell, Lyndsey Davidson,

Sofia Gambro, Katrina Harris, Anna Kelly, Milly Merry, Alix Morrison,

Alix Mowatt, Chloe Reynard and Millie Skidmore

Also this week we have been advised that Milly Merry will represent Scotland U16s Development Squad in Ulster and the Scotland U15s in Holland also in June.
