The GCW Boys U16s got their indoor league under way on Saturday morning.

The first game was against Grammar, and after going 3-0 down at half time, the boys fought back to make it 3-3. However, Grammar raised their game again and two late goals made the final score 3-5.

The second match against Hazlehead turned into a feisty encounter, with both teams showing great determination. After taking an early lead, GCW lost some of their composure in the face of some physical play by their oppponents and growing crowd support for Hazlehead(!). Goals came at regular intervals in a ding-dong game. This reporter's sources said the score finished 6-5 to GCW, but lead coach Chris Gray thought it was 5-5, so all the excitement seems to have caused some confusion!

The boys showed great promise and are looking forward to their upcoming fixtures:
