Granite City Wanderers operates an open door policy, and we pride ourselves on welcoming any interested young players from the Grampian area, regardless of ability or experience.
Since our formation in 2002, the club has worked very hard to build a successful youth section, as we realise that the club will only continue to progress by continually feeding young players into our senior teams. 
As part of our SHU endorsed club development plan, we have established links with a number of local schools which have enabled the club to use school facilities to provide training sessions for a range of different age groups.  This has enabled us to run a number of teams from U13 to U18 levels in local youth competitions and festival programmes.
In particular, we work very closely with Kincorth Academy and its feeder primary schools to develop new players.  We currently supply coaches for one lunchtime club for secondary pupils at the Academy, and two after school clubs for P6-7 pupils at Charleston and Loirston primary schools in Cove.

Although our main base is in Kincorth, youth players have also joined from schools such as Albyn, Bankhead Academy, Westhill Academy, Robert Gordons College and St Margaret’s.

Active Schools & Granite City Wanderers

 The Active Schools programme is a national initiative managed by Sportscotland on behalf of the Scottish Executive.  The aim of Active Schools team in Aberdeen is to target school aged children and offer them increased opportunities to be physically active and / or play more sport.  One of the main ways of doing this is to link with local sports clubs who can offer opportunities to progress in a particular sport. With an established link now created, Active Schools and Granite City Wanderers are looking to pool their resources by piloting a new extra-curricular club for P6-7 at Abbotswell primary school.  This club was launched during
